Brake Pad Replacement Service in Bloomington, IN

Brake Pad Replacement Service in Bloomington, IN

Every time you push down on the decelerator, you count on the associated system to bring your Mazda to a stop. Brake pads are a key component in disc-based units, making them crucial for safe travels in Bloomington, IN. Discover the specific function of these items, when to get them changed, and how our Service Department at Royal South Mazda can help.

How Brake Pads Function

Brake pads are typically metallic semi-circle items contained within the system’s calipers. When you press down on the decelerator, it makes a cylinder direct brake fluid to hoses that lead to the calipers. Once there, the substance engages the brake pads and they clamp down on the rotors, generating the friction required to bring your Mazda to a halt along East 3rd Street. The entire unit works in reverse when you take your foot off the pedal . Over time, the coating on these items wears down, and they become less effective. That’s when you need to get them changed out for another set.

Warning Signs

Your Mazda will provide many signals when it’s time for your brake pads to be changed, and here we’ll show you a few of the most common ones. The first and most common sign that the components must be replaced is when you press your decelerator and get a loud grinding or screeching noise in return. That’s a clear tip-off that the elements have worn down and need to be inspected and possibly replaced. Another red flag to watch out for is that the steering wheel, brake pedal, or both begin to shake when you press on the decelerator as you pull into Lower Cascades Park. Such a reaction indicates the metal components are rubbing against each other and are not as capable of performing. Lastly, if your car is taking a longer time to come to a complete halt, that’s a sign that you may need to visit our Parts Department to get a new set of pads.

Replacement Process

When you decide to come to our dealership’s service department, the first thing you’ll do is arrive at your scheduled time. Our technicians will greet you and begin an inspection of the Mazda by demounting the car’s wheels. They’ll examine each of the aforementioned system pieces for damage and then recommend services and parts to you based on your vehicle’s needs. The technicians will carefully remove the old set of brake pads before expertly installing the new ones, reassembling the components, and remounting the tires. Afterward, you’ll be free to go about your day with a new feeling of confidence. If you need your brake pads replaced or you want us to perform an inspection to see what you need, schedule an appointment with us at Royal South Mazda today!

I didn't buy my car here but sent it for regular maintenance a few times. Each time was an enjoyable experience. They were always friendly and never tried to sell me stuff I didn't need. I was sad when I got a new car and had to find another dealership for services!

We have had a very good experience with this dealership.

Service was the best I have had since having a car in the last 35 years. I did not have an appointment and they got me in for service. Everyone from the Service writer to the service tech was professional and nice to work with. Price for my oil change and inspection was very competitive and worth the 5-star service I recieved. They also sent me a Video of the service so I could see what was completed...Just top tier in my book. I will continue to go there with my MX-5 until it's dying day.

Everyone is very nice, helpful, and understanding from a phone call all the way to leaving the lot.

Everyone is very nice, helpful, and understanding from a phone call all the way to leaving the lot. I brought car in for an inspection, I LOVED the explanation video that was sent to me of the inspection. Not only did it make me feel a little more a part of the process, it gave me an excellent run down of everything that needed done and an accessible means of sharing with those who understand cars better than I do. Thank you very much!
