After having whittled down your choices between various car manufacturers, maybe you’ve settled on Mazda for their attention to detail, exhilarating powertrains, and strong reliability ratings from previous owners. Now your decision lies between either a subcompact SUV or a compact one, as you aren’t sure which body style would be a better choice for your Nashville excursions. Allow us at Royal South Mazda to go over the differences and similarities between two of our top contenders in these categories, the 2025 Mazda CX-30 and the 2025 Mazda CX-50!

Interior

There’s no doubt that both of these SUVs will be wonderful hosts, but the cabin that is more favorable is dependent on your needs. If you’re mostly going to be driving to your office in Nashville with only a single coworker on a regular basis, the Mazda CX-30’s 41.7 inches of front legroom is certainly welcome. The Mazda CX-50 has the same measurements in the first row, though it offers 39.8 inches of rear legroom — a great benefit for anyone with children who frequently occupy the back. Both cars come with upholstery options that are cozy and decorative, with the subcompact version getting access to the available Greige Leatherette and the compact iteration having options between standard Black/Gray as well as White. Pump the tunes in either car thanks to an 8-speaker sound system that is available in both vehicles, with the larger variant having it as standard equipment.

Performance

The 2025 Mazda CX-30 and the 2025 Mazda CX-50 are similar with how they bring joy to each person operating their standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engines with SKYACTIV®-G technology. There’s 186 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque to be felt by the former SUV’s powertrain, and it is neck and neck with the latter’s production of 187 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft. of torque. Each model can also be equipped with an optional 2.5L turbocharged Dynamic Pressure 4-cylinder system, with the Mazda CX-30 making up to 250 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque and the Mazda CX-50 revving out a maximum of 256 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque. These figures are possible when providing either car with 93 octane premium fuel. On that note, those who travel frequently may bode well with the Mazda CX-30’s respectable 24/31/27 MPG city/hwy/combined 1 estimated fuel economy rating.

Exterior

Staking your claim at Lincoln Pinch Park will be easy with both the Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda CX-50 because of how high they rest above the pavement. The smaller of the two has a bold 8-inch ground clearance, and the compact entry also stands tall with a maximum of 8.6 inches, respectively. With a 173-inch length, however, the Mazda CX-30 is ideal for city parking or those tight spaces at the parking lot of Salt Creek Trail. No matter which SUV you ultimately choose to purchase from us during our business hours, we’re certain either will shine bright on your driveway because of the paint colors that they share. These include Soul Red Crystal Metallic 2, Polymetal Gray Metallic 2, and Jet Black Mica. Come see how they shimmer up close and in person at our location!

Service department is great! Easy to make an appointment and they have always been ready for me at my appointment time. They have been respectful of my time and very thorough in their services. For even a basic service they do a nicely comprehensive check on the car and send you a video of, all the things they checked it’s very cool. I highly recommend them.

Each time was an enjoyable experience.

I didn't buy my car here but sent it for regular maintenance a few times. Each time was an enjoyable experience. They were always friendly and never tried to sell me stuff I didn't need. I was sad when I got a new car and had to find another dealership for services!

We have had a very good experience with this dealership.

We have had a very good experience with this dealership. They were very upfront with their pricing. They had the suv that we were looking for in stock. They are not pushy but very knowledgeable about their businesses. Overall a very good dealership.

Service was the best I have had since having a car in the last 35 years.

Service was the best I have had since having a car in the last 35 years. I did not have an appointment and they got me in for service. Everyone from the Service writer to the service tech was professional and nice to work with. Price for my oil change and inspection was very competitive and worth the 5-star service I recieved. They also sent me a Video of the service so I could see what was completed...Just top tier in my book. I will continue to go there with my MX-5 until it's dying day.

Everyone is very nice, helpful, and understanding from a phone call all the way to leaving the lot.

Everyone is very nice, helpful, and understanding from a phone call all the way to leaving the lot. I brought car in for an inspection, I LOVED the explanation video that was sent to me of the inspection. Not only did it make me feel a little more a part of the process, it gave me an excellent run down of everything that needed done and an accessible means of sharing with those who understand cars better than I do. Thank you very much!
