2019 Mazda CX-3 vs 2019 Mazda CX-5
Mazda has some excellent options for drivers to choose from, but those seeking more space than a sedan are probably interested in an SUV. Not just any SUV will do, though. Mazda offers three different models: the CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9. In this comparison between the 2019 Mazda CX-3 vs 2019 Mazda CX-5, you’ll see how a subcompact SUV compares to a larger compact SUV. Check it out!
Since the CX-5 is a compact SUV, it has a larger cargo capacity than the CX-3. That should be easy to remember since five is greater than three. With that greater size comes more power and a greater towing potential. However, the CX-3 may be seen by many as easier to handle due to its smaller size. Additionally, the lower price tag on the CX-3 is a nice addition. Take a look at the table below for some head to head comparisons!
2019 Mazda CX-3
2019 Mazda CX-5
|148 hp/146 lb-ft||Horsepower/Torque||187 hp/186 lb-ft|
|44.5 cubic ft||Max Cargo Space||59.6 cubic ft|
|29 city/34 hwy mpg||Fuel Efficiency||25 city/31 hwy mpg|
Which Mazda SUV is right for me?
Each model has its own set of perks, but there’s one more for the CX-5 we should mention. For 2019, the CX-5 comes with two engine options. The base engine in the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trim levels gives an efficient 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the Grand Touring Reserve or Signature trim levels, however, will give drivers 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs and a sportier, more responsive engine. If the cargo space and performance output in the CX-3 are good enough for you, though, it may not be worth the upgrade. The cool thing about Mazda is that each of their SUVs come with very similar interior technology and luxury features, so upgrading is really only necessary if you want more space and/or more power under the hood. Some of the other specs and features in each include:
- Push-button start
- 6-speed automatic transmission
- Color touchscreen display
- Rearview camera
- Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Traffic Display
- Available BOSE® audio system
- Mazda Navigation System
- And much more!
