How to tell when you need a wheel alignment

Every now and then you’ll need some vehicle servicing. No one wants to do this, of course, because it can be costly and leaves you without a vehicle for a set period of time. However, it’s all part of the privilege of driving. Here at Royal South Mazda, we do more than just sell exceptional Mazda cars and SUVs. Our service technicians can also perform necessary vehicle services, such as wheel alignments. Take a look at some of the symptoms below to learn how you can tell when you need a wheel alignment!

As you rack up miles and hit bumps and potholes, your wheels are bound to become misaligned. A wheel alignment is kind of like getting back adjustment from a chiropractor: the more movement you do, the more misaligned you’ll become. One of the most common signs that you need a wheel alignment is when the steering wheel pulls one way or the other when you let go of it while driving. If the vehicle doesn’t continue driving straight, it’s probably because the wheels are misaligned.

How important is it to get a tire rotation?

Another common sign that the wheels are misaligned is uneven wear and tear on the tires. Tires should wear evenly for the most part, though tires in the front will typically wear a little faster than the tires in the rear since the engine is up front and weighs that part down. If you notice uneven wear between the inside or outside part of the tire, it could be because the wheels are misaligned.
