Mazda goes to great lengths to ensure their lineup is full of performance-enhanced cars and SUVs, and that can especially be said for the Mazda6. After all, the midsize sedan segment is full of top-tier competitors that could make it easy to get drowned out. The Mazda6, however, holds its own. Here in 2020, there are two powertrain options to choose from. Check out the engine specs and performance in the 2020 Mazda6 below!
For 2020, the Mazda6 has two engine options to choose from. The first is the base 2.5L 4-cylinder, which has been a staple of the Mazda6 for a few years now. This one is the more fuel-efficient of the two, getting 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque along with an impressive 35 hwy mpg. For a step up in power, the 2.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is available on the Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature trim levels. It gets 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque for a sporty driving experience that is unmatched by competitors.
With the addition of G-Vectoring Control Plus, you’ll be able to achieve a smoother drive with greater ease turning corners and such. An efficient six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board, which means you’ll get excellent acceleration and seamless gear changes regardless of trim level. Additionally, there are plenty of driver assistance features that can act as a second set of eyes when you need them most.
