Everyone’s favorite Mazda subcompact crossover SUV is back and better than ever for the 2018 model year, featuring a wide array of updates, upgrades and enhancements that make it more capable, more functional and more fuel efficient than ever before. We’re talking, of course, about the 2018 Mazda CX-3, which we have right here at Royal South Mazda in Bloomington, IN. Thanks to all of the improvements made to the new Mazda CX-3 for the 2018 model year, it would be impossible to go over them all in just one post. So, this time around, we’re going to check out all of the engine and performance features of the 2018 Mazda CX-3.

The 2018 Mazda CX-3 lineup features three trim levels – the 2018 CX-3 Sport, the 2018 CX-3 Touring and the 2018 CX-3 Grand Touring. All three new Mazda CX-3 models feature a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of pumping out up to 146 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission complete with manual shift mode and Sport mode for all three models. All three 2018 Mazda CX-3 models also feature the choice between front-wheel drive and Active Torque-Split all-wheel drive. If you go with front-wheel drive, your 2018 CX-3 will get up to 29 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway. If you go with Active Torque-Split all-wheel drive, your new CX-3 will get up to 27 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.

The powertrains of the three 2018 Mazda CX-3 models also feature an anti-lock brake system complete with electronic brakeforce distribution and Brake Assist, dynamic stability control, a traction control system, a tire pressure monitoring system, power-assisted ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes and Hill Launch Assist.
