As Mazda updates its line with its new “Nagare” design theme, one vehicle mostly spared from the facelift has been the Mazda6, which continues to dodge the big, smiling grille making its way onto other models. Still, the Mazda6 will get a mild update for the 2011 model year in an effort to improve both its looks and safety.
Though the Mazda6 doesn’t get the full smiley-face treatment, some evidence of it is present in the 2011 car below the main grille and in the sleeker headlights. The exterior of the car also picks up new taillights and new 17- and 18-in. wheels.
Inside, Mazda has added a new multi-function steering wheel with controls that should be easier to use and updated the looks with some piano-black trim and some chrome bits
